The politicians want us to burn more ethanol in our cars. Like most plans concocted by politicians, this is a very poorly conceived program which is already causing great problems for mankind. What they don’t want you to know about Ethanol.
Ethanol creates more carbon in the atmosphere than burning gasoline. There is a lot more that can be said about that but it is a fact and that means that it defeats the whole purpose of the environmentalists. That is true when you consider the big picture of Ethanol fuel production.
Essentially the reallocation of agricultural land from food to energy crops and the increase in forest land converted to agricultural land to meet the demand means more CO2 in the atmosphere. A study reported in the journal "Science" indicates that, depending on the crop used to create the ethanol, it could take tens or even hundreds of years for ethanol to make up for the CO2 surge caused by plowing more land for agriculture.

There can be no doubt. All government mandates, subsidies, and tax breaks for ethanol production must end, immediately. If we can stop them from plundering the American people in the name of environmentalism we will actually help the environment, lower spending and make the budget somewhat more confrontable. Better yet, all of this can be achieved while also lowering your fuel and food prices.
