The Democratic Republic of Congo is an African Country that provides a range of exciting holiday opportunities to any kind of tourist-fun seekers. There is a lot of biodiversity in the country. People looking for a real jungle experience, or a face to face encounter with not-so-ordinary wildlife, the Democratic Republic of Congo has all the rare beauties of wildlife.

The Garamba National Park is one example that Congo has rich wildlife. The national park is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here, you will be awed by the vast savannah it has as well as its majestic grasslands and woodlands. Here, you will see all of the game animals such as giraffes, hippopotamuses, and elephants. How about seeing a white rhinoceros, or a black rhinoceros? The Garamba National Park is fully equipped with these extremely rare species.

In Kahuzi-Biega National Park there are plenty of extinct volcanoes to see. These extinct volcanoes are the Kahuzi and the Biega volcanoes. You will be amazed as these volcanoes stand in front of you alive as you are as little bursts of smoke filter out of their craters. There are gorillas that are well protected from poaches as well as a plethora of other animals and plants in the park.

Still not satisfied by the first two famous parks why not try Salonga National Park and Okapi Wildlife Reserve. In Salonga National park, the immense rainforest has the antics of the dwarf chimpanzee and the amazing Congo peacock. The peacock has its colourful tail and a variety of not so unusual designs can be seen here.

While in the Okapi Wildlife Reserve, you can see a wide variety of birds and primates scattered about the place. With these living creatures that surround you, they will give you a bit of affection while they follow you around as you tour the place. Not only this, the waterfalls will add as background and the wonderful scenery of Ituri and Epulu Rivers. There really is a beauty of nature.

The Falls of Zongo is also a great spot for nature enthusiasts. There is a splendid view of the Zongo Falls and there is the green beauty of the virgin forest located nearby. There is a bungalow near to the forest available for anybody to rent, the forest is also open for people wanting to camp out and spend the night caressing the beauty of the night nature.

The Lake Kivu is another treasure of Congo. This is located in Uganda, now under control of the Uganda and Burundi military forces. Nearby is the Parc National des Virungas that encompasses five separate national parks. It is recommended to have a local guide while exploring the area, no matter how adventurous a traveller you might be.
