Why do so many politicians want us to switch over to Ethanol? . Like most plans concocted by politicians, this is a very poorly conceived program which is already causing great problems for mankind. Some really bad things you need to know about Ethanol.

A University of Iowa study indicates that ethanol production increased the average food bill by about $47 over the last six months of 2007. Ethanol is promoted as a way to make America less dependent on foreign oil. But those in the industry know this is a lie. Even if every ear of corn produced in the USA was allocated to Ethanol production for energy then the decrease in US oil imports for gasoline production would be about 12 percent! Right, ONLY 12%! We import about 14% of our oil from the Middle East so in this scenario we are still requiring at least some oil from the Middle East and much more from elsewhere
Qui Bono? Who benefits? The ethanol program is really a government program of corporate welfare. There can be no doubt. All government mandates, subsidies, and tax breaks for ethanol production must end, immediately. If we can stop them from plundering the American people in the name of environmentalism we will actually help the environment, reduce government spending, and make it easier to balance the federal budget. Better yet, all of this can be achieved while also lowering your fuel and food prices.
