That would be sufficient to feed a small village for a year! THAT’s HORRIBLE! So that ignorant American driver who does not have a clue, probably thinks that he is helping the world and yet, he can be considered responsible for the death of all the people in a small village in some place he never heard of. And that is the world we are living in with biofuel!
When you try to solve a problem and end up with that problem and a much worse one then that is not survival, not sanity, not a good solution. Ethanol from corn does not help the environment and it adds a new problem – a worldwide food crisis which fossil fuels never caused ! Higher oil prices naturally raise the cost of everything that takes energy to produce, but on top of that American and European Union policies have resulted in a drastically lower food supply by fascistically demanding that farmers grow corn for fuel instead of food . Lord Bush’s 2007 "Energy Independence and Security Act" is currently and will continue to be responsible for the deaths of millions all from one signature on that one document
With biofuels out of the equation, farmers could have just charged more for food due to rising costs but without reducing the food production output , and they could have increased food output to meet the greater demands of an expanding world population. In fact, when prices rise, the market is giving more incentive for producers to generate more of the thing that is in higher demand so they can make more money. Now those incentive signals are confused and ineffective because of forced government biofuel mandates. Farmers must now produce for the automotive biofuel market as well as for the human food market.
Exactly fifty years ago, Mao in China removed the right to private agriculture in his shift towards communism and left wing corporatism and this led to a 15% drop in grain production in 1959 and another 10% reduction in 1960. Bush either failed to learn from history or learned too well but he has outdone Mao! Varying statistics all have alarming consequences. The drop in America’s corn for food crop has been between 33% and 38% depending on whose statistics you believe. A convergence of forces turned Mao's 1958 plan into the greatest famine in history, and the result was the starvation and death of tens of millions of Chinese . Bush's "Energy Independence and Security Act" may eventually take even more lives worldwide.
Some estimates have it that in 2008 alone ten to twenty million people could die due to the scarcity of food because of its forced allocation to biofuel . Let’s try to put that in some perspective. Most years the total number of people who die from all causes, total number of deaths is between fifty and sixty million people ! An additional 10 to 20 million equates to an increase of 12% to 40% in the total number of deaths. Hardly anyone has noticed this occurring but surely there must be millions that have died already since the year is almost 1/3rd over already. So how does that compare to deaths from terrorism for instance? I make the comparison because such a large percent of the population is freaked out about terrorism .
Let’s review some other stats of death so as to compare. Between six hundred thousand and seven hundred thousand die in America most years from heart conditions of one kind or another . Cancer takes between 450,000 and 600,000 deaths per year .
Over one hundred thousand people die every year from accidents of different kinds . In the year of the WTC and Pentagon attacks the deaths on the road were tantamount to having the 911 attacks occurring every twenty six days . And how many deaths were there of Americans from terrorist attacks through the decade of the 1990s? They averaged 250 deaths per year which equates to almost one death from terrorist attacks for every 400 deaths from accidents on the road ! So now how does that 100,000 deaths per year from traffic accidents compare to, maybe 15 million deaths from starvation due to the shift to biofuel? That ratio is 1 to 150!
Fifteen million people is equal to four years of sold out crowds at Yankee Stadium for four full years of home games!
My fellow Americans, whom I hardly know anymore have demonstrated their willingness to sacrifice our Constitution, our freedoms, our heart and soul in exchange for Big Brother to take care of them and protect them from terrorist attacks even though this sacrifice has not resulted in anything but a country moving rapidly towards a police state with no greater security against terrorist attacks whatsoever. What will Americans be willing to sacrifice so as to ensure that 10s of millions of people don’t die from starvation because of food shortages caused by biofuel?
