Prague the capital city of the Czech Republic is made up of three towns; Old Town, Lesser Town and New Town and is considered one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe. Some of the most beautiful and historic buildings in the world can be found in this great city; buildings such as the gothic Castle Okor, the Bezdez Castle, and the Antonin Dvorak Museum Hall. There are many beautiful architectural structures, some even dating back as far as the Roman Empire. The detail and pure beauty of these building is what brings thousands upon thousands of people to the beautiful city of Prague every year.
The beautiful city of Prague is situated along the Vltava River in central Bohemia. Prague is the largest city and also the capital of the Czech Republic. The foundation of Prague dates back to the Paleolithic Age. The city was founded by Princess Libu'e and Premysl, her husband and founder of the Premysl Dynasty. This city became the seat of Kings of Bohemia and an important place for trading. Prague has a number of nicknames, such as City of a Hundred Spires, The Golden City, The Left Bank of the Nineties, The Mother of Cities, and The Heart of Europe.

Tourists can visit all the places of interest by taking walking tours, bus tours, or boat tours. A number of companies offer interesting walking tours of Prague. Some walking tours may have themes such as ghosts, Kafka, and legends. A two hour boat tour on the Vltava River takes tourists past the Prague Castle District and Lesser Town. The Prague by Night tour is three hours long and tourists can enjoy onboard dining and cruising. It is followed by a one-hour coach trip to Prague's most beautiful squares. Nightlife in Prague is quite active and entertaining.

One structure that attracts many visitors each year is the Charles Bridge. This bridge connects Old Town with Lesser Town. The view from this bridge is incredible. The Prague castle and St. Vitus Cathedral can be clearly seen in the Prague skyline. The Prague castle was built around the ninth century. It has held many titles, and in the middle ages, it was the residence of the monarchy. Additions were continually made to the castle. And it grew to be one of the most elaborate castles in the world.

The City Hall Tower in the Old Town district of Prague is a clock tower that dates back to the 14th century. Its fascinating to see the attention to detail in its design and construction. On the hour mark, a door opens above the clock and the twelve Apostles appear. On the right side of the dial the skeleton of death rings the bell. The clock tower has seen some major repairs over the centuries and the attention to detail is one thing that has remained constant and is a testament to the presevation efforts of the local people.

A certain museum in the town of Kutna Hora is dedicated entirely to Alchemy and the study of mysteries of mythical creations. Also found in Kutna is a stone fountain that has been built in the gothic style so prevalent in this area. The fountain, built in 1496 is still in working order today. People who visit the fountain often comment on the peacefulness they find whilst sitting at the fountain.

A rich variety of dishes are available when dining out in the Czech Republic. You will find everything from Thai, Japanese, Chinese, French and of course excellent local dishes.

The Czech Republic is a wonderful place to visit. It is filled with history and beauty. Millions of people travel here to vacation every year. There are so many attractions in this awesome country that you may want to extend your vacation.

Spring is the best time to visit Prague when temperatures are 8-14°C/46-57°F. April and beginning of May are also conducive when the temperatures reach 15-25°C/59-77°F.Since 1992, historic centers of Prague have been included in the UNESCO list of heritage structures.
