Essentially the reallocation of agricultural land from food to energy crops and the increase in forest land converted to agricultural land to meet the demand means more CO2 in the atmosphere. A recent study calculated that it could take 10s or 100s of years for the decreased CO2 from using oil instead of Ethanol in cars to catch up with the CO2 surge generated by wiping out acres of forest land
Ethanol has also been sold as an important part of achieving energy independence, but this is another myth. There can be no doubt. The government and the big corporations (same thing) is raking in billions from the Global Warming scare and must be stopped immediately. If we can stop them from plundering the American people in the name of environmentalism we will actually help the environment, lower spending and make the budget somewhat more confrontable.
